'Wake Up To Rape' T-shirt
Rape is a serious issue and totally not a laughing matter but...They couldn't come up with a better way to promote awareness?!
Also, 'Wake Up To Rape' sends the wrong message; it sounds like they're telling you to commit the crime..

NYC ING Marathon 2010- Jersey Design
I attended the NYC ING Marathon for the first time this year. I had the pleasure of making one of the runner's jerseys.
I was given a preprinted jersey and was told to spice/brighten it up. I used neon pink and purple fabric paint and outlined the her name in the front. Then I customized the back to fit her personality. She's a hair stylist so I decided to paint a silhouette of a female runner holding a blowdryer and comb lol.
It turned out really great and it was awesome to see her running with it on.
The atmosphere was crazy in NYC; it was so positive and there was so many people cheering.
I loved it and hopefully will participate in it one day!!

Halloween 2010 - I AM DARTH VADER!
I look forward to Halloween every year because I can let my freaky creativity loose and be someone totally different for a day..
This year I chose to be Darth Vader :D
I REFUSE to be anything sexy for Halloween. Being that I'm a woman, I think it's hilarious to be something unattractive for Halloween. Last year I was Rosie from the Jetsons; I wore a huge box all night.. Which was fun because everyone knew who I was but it wasn't fun because everyone wanted to slap my box.
My costume was very last minute, I decided to be Darth Vader Friday night. I had a light saber from NYC Comic Con so I already had the most important accessory.
Here's what you need: black foam core, strong glue (i used wood glue), a box cutter, a Darth Vader costume from Amazon or Target, black snowboarding gloves, black rain boots, acrylic paint.
The mask that comes with the costume is a half mask. So I basically used the foam board and built around it to make a full head mask so it wouldn't look so corny. Then I made boxes to emulate the boxes that are already on the costume and belt, so that it would be 3D instead of just on the fabric. I used a real picture of Darth Vader to paint on the necessary buttons.
The costume costs about $25-30 but to make it so much better is just a couple of more bucks.. And it took me about 2 hours to complete, just because I'm so talented like that ;)
I attended the parade in the village for the first time this year with my partner, Stewie, who by the way, was a HUGE hit. I wanted to see how crazy it actually was.. and it was bonkers! It was a huge crowd of people.. A great experience, but I'd rather watch it on TV next year!
